Radon

What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that seeps into homes from the ground below the home. It gives off radioactive particles that, when inhaled, damage the cells that line the lung. Long-term exposure to radon can lead to lung cancer. In fact, over 21,000 lung cancer deaths in the US each year are attributed to radon, making it a serious health concern for all Minnesotans.

Why Choose us?

We are NRPP/AARST certified, meaning we carry a radon certification that most radon testers do not. We are also licensed in MN (new requirement as of 01/01/2019). More information can be found at the NRPP website.  We offer CRM testing (continuous radon monitor). We utilize Sun Nuclear radon monitors that provide an hour by hour reading and an overall average. The report is delivered right after the testing period concludes.

What does it cost?

Our fees for radon testing are as follows: CRM test in conjunction with a home inspection = $175, as a standalone service = $200 (multiple foundation type homes such as split levels and basement+crawlspace/slab areas are an additional $75 as two monitors need to be deployed).
